the book thief!!!

hey everyone! as you can see, its me haley and i just wanted to talk about my favorite book of all time, the book thief by markus zusak. the book theif is about a girl named leisel who lives in nazi germany. its basically her whole life, she isnt a jew, but a one point her family is hiding a jew.

she has a very good like, but the ending is like a punch in the gut. i couldnt stop crying:( so if you dont like depressing books this really isnt for you. of course theres a bright spot, but its just such a good book.

what makes this book so intresting is the narrator. its written from the perspective of death. death itself.

so if your wondering if this book is for you, you should know that theres a little cussing, but thats it! this is my all time favorite book and im sure you will enjoy it as much as i did, so what are you waiting for?! go to your nearest bookstore or library and get it!

adam young!

hi everyone, its haley, and i just wanted to take a break from books and writing to talk about adam young! adam young is the mastermind behind port blue and swimming with dolphins! and as of today *drumroll* SKY SAILING! this is some of the music he wrote before his fame. i have neglected to mention the stage name that earned him all this fame so that when you listen to it, you dont AUTOMATICALLY love it because of what hes already done.

although adam never disapoints me. some of you probably know who adam is, but dont tell! anyway, go listen to the song brielle. its beautiful, slow, and sweet. its not radically different than his past music, although it is different. the album, an airplane carried me to bed, is not going to be in store until july 13, but you can preorder it on itunes for 9.99 and youll get a download of brielle and a special preorder only download! im not sure what it is, because i dont have enough money, but rest assured, i will soon!

so i hope you guys are enjoying the blog, and if you like, i can talk about music more often, although i know thats kristens thing. sorry kristen! i just had to mention it, cuz im SO EXCITED!

Things are a little different

I did a re-design of the blog, yes, I know. But I did it because a) I didn't really like the old wallpaper and b) I thought Haley might like it if things were a little bit darker.
: )

Dear Haley

I like your idea for Sarah, but I feel like she would be a little ungrateful then. How about, after that incident, Patrick thinks its time for him to 'make his move' and ask Sarah out, and she is not about to let that happen. She thinks Patrick is nice, but not that nice, and with his request mounted on top of her slowly growing feelings for Patrick, she snaps and has a breakdown.

Also, I like how you want to add depth to Aria's character. Because, just like we are trying to prove in this story, no one is all anything (all good, all bad, all perfect, all faulted etc.)

hi colleen! SPOILER ALERT

so about sarah "hating" patrick, maybe now shes mad at him for standing up for her, because she can stand up for herself. its a little cliche, but this way she wont HATE him, but resent him.

fine with aria, but i think that she should be misunderstood, much like johnson was in the future. when i was writing i was thinking that sarah reminds her of the kid who convinced her she could escape and got her punished.

so what happens to the kids when they become adults?

Dear Haley

I can understand how you want your characters to go, but why would Sarah hate Patrick? Especially after Patrick did something so nice for her? And the thing with Aria, we need a minor villian

hi!

hi colleen! its haley, and its too dark? :( i like it, kat was originally created to be a dark charactor, so what if the story is light, but kat brings darkness into it? i mean if the story is too light it will lose meaning. also, patrick was designed so that sarah hates him. other than that i like it, maybe aria is slightly less hated? i cant help it, i empathize with my charactors;)

can you still use kats chapter? i REALLY like it! pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase?????? ill be your best friend!!!

Saturday, June 26, 2010

Oh, Haley

I looked and saw that you had put your chapter in. But so dark. Kind of more dark than I'd like.
So is Kat schizophrenic or something? Is it a real person, or just in her mind?

Here's what I was thinking of the rest of chapter 8, b/c I hadn't intended the chapter to end there.

As soon as everyone was fed, Sarah and Johnson grabbed some cooling waffles and tried to find a seat with their friends. They looked around, trying to find... and there it was. Sam's hand, high in the air.

"Sup, Sam," Sarah asked, smiling as she dropped her tray to the table.

"Oh, not much." Sam was always happy. Even though people would be mean to her, she still kept up this happy aura that seemed to radiate from her. No matter what anyone said, Sam was a great girl.

"How's it going Johnson, Sam?" Patrick smiled, setting his tray next to Sam.

"What," Sarah joked, "don't I get a hello?" It was a well known fact that Patrick had a crush on Sarah, big time. Johnson felt sorry for Patrick, because the fact of Patrick's crush had seemed to eluded the most important person. Sarah. For being very clever about escaping and such, she was sometimes socially lost. She was often jovial and kind, but she seemed to have trouble knowing when to stop being one of the boys and start taking thing seriously.

Just then Aria bustled over. She was a large, meaty woman, who had a soft spot for Johnson, and a hard spot for Sarah.

"SARAH," Aria bellowed from halfway across the lunch room. Few heads turned, it was routine for Aria, the schools head chef, (although she rarely did anything) to come yelling that Sarah had messed something or other up. "Sarah! You have really messed up this time! I have warned you again and again, put the syrup AWAY when your done! Rats will get in and then who will have to deal with it? ME! Now go in there and clean your mess up!"

"But, um ma'am? It was me who left the syrup out. I'll go get it." Johnson dropped his fork and jogged to the kitchen, leaving Aria and Sarah glaring at each other, and Sam and Patrick poking at their waffles.

Chapter 9

"There he goes again, cleaning up YOUR messes. You should be right grateful that he does all he does for the likes of you. He deserves someone better to be his friend. Like Sam. Why doesn't he hang out with you Sam? You're pretty enough, why don't you hang out? Tell you what, I'll talk to the Matron, see if I can get you both let off your duties for the day. Sure she'll agree if it'll get him away from trash like you, Sarah." Aria had been standing there, ranting at Sarah since Johnny had left. Sarah was usually able to be deaf to the criticism, but today the words stung. She was about to say something snide that would get her in trouble, when an unexpected voice spoke up.

"She's not trash." Patrick wasn't looking at his waffle anymore. He was glaring at Aria. Sarah was amazed. She didn't know Patrick was that brave. "She's not trash and you should stop treating her like one. You're a grown up. You're supposed to be above things like this, petty trying to break her down. You may not think so, but I know that she is talented. That she is able to do things that no one else can do. You're supposed to help her grow, to help her learn. You may not be a councilor, but we are in you care, and when we are, you shall treat us like the human beings that we are!" By that time, Patrick was standing and yelling, out of breath. But he went on.

"You don't seem to understand what you're supposed to do. You're the cook, aren't you? Yet you do nothing! You pass the job on. I know for a fact that you aren't in their 'supervising'. But if you catch Sarah has much as pointing one toe out of line, you yell at her and interrupt everyones breakfast. You know where you should take up your private matters? IN PRIVATE! Because everyone knows that the reason why Sarah is 'trash', and 'no good', is because you don't want her being around your 'precious Johnson'. Well his is not your life to chose. His friendships are not your's to break. And you have NO right to tell Sarah who she is allowed to associate with!"

The whole cafeteria was silent. No one had ever spoken that way to Aria. 'She looks like she's gonna have an aneurysm', Sarah though cheerfully.

Then someone started clapping. Aria flushed and stammered at Patrick, who was still glaring at her malevolently. As more people started clapping. Aria turned in a mixture of ashamedness and humiliation and strode off, bumping into Johnny on his way back.

"What's all this," Johnny asked as he slid back next to Sarah. Sarah felt her breath catch in the back of her throat. 'Johnny is right next to you'. So? Why should she care? But at that, she felt the spark catch and start to glow a bit brighter. Stop that, the scorned.

"Patrick just told Aria off for hating on Sarah! It was brilliant! It was epic! It will live in infamy and go down in Bable Ivy history!" Sam was shouting to be heard above the roar of other kids who had always wished to tell Aria to shut up, cheering for Patrick. Patrick! The library nerd who spent all of his time reading, had just read her the riot act. And everyone loved him for it.

Spoilers!

Very good!
Okay, I'll go through this in order.
First, I'm trying to show the little sparks, the inner turmoil etc.
Second, I'm gonna have Sarah and Johnson have lunch, introduce some secondary characters, and then get to the rest of the orphanage.
Third, good point. I tried to look on the internet to find out dream symbolism for Sarah's and Johnson's dream things. I'll need your help with that. But also, like in Paper Towns I want to challenge what we believe is good and evil, b/c that's what the whole book is about. More on that later.
Next, yes. Just yes. She should die for the cause. But we need to find out what, why, and where she dies.
Back to what the book is about. I don't really like the dark message as much because we don't really want to read books that don't eventually make us feel better. We don't want to push people over the edge into depression! We all, as I have previously talked about, we usually see ourselves in our characters, they are flawed, but then at the end, the characters don't exactly come out perfect, but better. Then we feel like we can get better. That we are not fated to have ourselves be the same, but that we can change. So the message that I want to give is that we are not fit to determine who or what is evil. Just like all of the top governmental persons thought that Johnson was evil when he was not. We just have to know that what we do could seem evil to someone else. We never do something because we think it's evil. We do it because we believe that it is the best choice possible.

And there you go!
You said you'd written a chapter. Wanna share?

suggestions SPOILER ALERT

hey colleen! weve been really busy today posting stuff. i was gonna email you these suggestions, but you said we should do most of our planning here. so anyway, i was thinking about ways we could make what we have so far even better. do you think you could maybe email me, or post the whole story? heres some ideas!!! BIG SPOILER ALERT! IF YOU DONT WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS, DO NOT READ ON.
  • i think instead of sarah just BAM, falling in love with johnson, id like to see sarah fall in love with him, so maybe that "spark" could come later on.
  • i think soon we should definately give a description of the orphanage, maybe as sarah and john go throughout their daily chores.
  • there needs to be a lot of symbolism and a lot of foreshadowing. a lot of thought should go into mood too, maybe we can look on the internet for tips on that stuff.
  • now that ive been writing through kats eyes i think she should have a bigger part, but she should die. for sure.
  • we need it to have an overall message, and none of this change the world crap. johnson was misunderstood right? thats why they thought he was evil, but he ended up curing cancer? heres my idea for the message: human beings are stupid and flawed, so no matter what we do everythings gonna end up screwed. it doesnt matter how much effort we put into things, we are going to fail.
  • do you think that message is too dark? we could go for something happier like: a person is not always what they seem to be, people change, try to see things through their eyes.
  • i like the darker one, but its really your story. i think we should do like a flash to the future, to give people some more hints.

what do you think?

story

hey colleen!!! i cant wait to read an abundance of katherines, its in my room waiting for me!! so about the story, heres what i have so far.

aria, the cook, walked into the kitchen. "sarah, you cant just stand around in here! get to work!" sarah reached for the already made waffles muttering to herself.
"oh, but johnny can". aria loved johnson. loved him with all her heart, and she about hated sarah as much as she loved johnson. johnson tried to help them get along, but aria was set in her ways.
"johnson, why dont you head on out to breakfast, ill take care of the rest."
"its ok! i really dont mind", johnson said. he knew that leaving sarah and aria alone in the kitchen, full of ovens and knives would be a bad idea. then one of the counsolers walked in.
"aria!" he barked. "these kids need to be eating! finish the waffle yourself!"
"yessir", she muttered as johnson and sarah scurried out. aria countinued to finish the waffles, but faster now. that darn sarah, she just isnt good for johnson. he shouldve had everything ready by the time she got here, but no. sarah was nothing but a distraction.

aria remembered having a friend like that. no good for her, put ideas into her head, ideas she could escape. "not now", she muttered, "finish the waffles".

chapter next:

sarah sighed with relief as she and johnson made their way into the crowded cafeteria. she hated aria for hating her. "johnson," she asked for the millionth time, "why does aria hate me so much? she loves you!!"
"look, i dont know, i talk to her about it almost all the time and she claims your not good for me. that youll put 'crazy ideas' into my head."
"well i cant stand it!!!"
"i know, i know", johnson said, tring to calm her down. she could feel tears threatening to fall. "hey, hey! dont cry, ill talk to her again."
"im not crying", sarah mumbled.
"ok, ok"... ever since the dreams started she had been so highstrung. getting upset at the smallest things that never used to bother her. she abruptly stopped and sat down, pulilng johnson down with her. she looked at the faces surrounding her. the usual freaks. except for kat. there was something about her, something she liked. a lot.
"hey kat. sam."
"sarah..." johnson warned.
"what?"
"hi patrick", said johnson, exasperated.
"hey!" said sam, always cheerful, despite her unusualness. sam might or might not be a lesbian. she isnt quite sure. "ill know it when i see it", she always says when asked about love.
"hey sarah", patrick said hesitently.
"anyone else hear that really annoying buzzing sound?" sarah asked. "its not you sam, for sure not you kat... i dont know where its coming from!" no reply, other than a stomp on the foot from johnson. its a well known fact that patrick has an insane crush on sarah, even though she hates him. "ouch!!!" sarah screamed dramatically.

sam hid her face. johnson sighed. patrick picked at his waffles. kat said nothing. she did nothing. her face portrayed no emotion. sarah looked around, patted johnson on the head, and procceeded to stuff waffles into her face.

another chapter

kat looked up. sarah. was there. she was watching. talking. she tried to open her mouth. it would not respond. sarah said hi. "you should say hi too", she thought. she tried again. her lips, glued shut.

it was fear that kept them together. fear of what she would say. her mom always said if she didnt have anything nice to say, she shouldnt say anything. "hi is nice though", she thought. "but what if she spoke the wrong words? what if she let him talk"? he would not say nice things.

one time he told her to kill. to kill everyone. why would he tell her to do that? "im a nice girl, im a nice girl", she thought to herself.
"take your fork."
"no".
"you will."
"stop."
"do it"
"please!"
"take the fork". she found herself grabbing hold of the fork.
"stop, stop stop!!!" she screamed silently. maybe if she screamed loud enough someone would hear her. sam was looking at her now. she had been talking about something, but kat never really listened.
"do it", he commanded.
"stop, i wont!!"
"you have no choice". she fought with the urge to stab it at sam, sitting next to her.
"sam is my friend."
"you have no friends, you are mine". she plunged the fork into her arm.

should i do another chapter? im on a roll... i like writing as kat, its fun:) you can do all the editing you like, but dont do too much to kat!

hope you like it!

the first "queer" one to ever live at the orphanage

sarah and johnson both feel pity for her

And now the story!

Chapter 8

When Johnson got to the kitchens, steam was already steaming from the sinks. Sarah was crouched over a pile of dirty dishes that the evening shift on Kitchen Duty 'accidentally' forgot.

"You're up early." Sarah smiled up from the dishes.

"Yeah, well Queen Ranavalona woke up early."

"Ouch. Did you get out of there in time?" Johnson donned the yellow rubber gloves, which were getting ever larger holes.

"Yes, but just barely."

"So, how long have you been afraid of her."

"What did you say?" Sarah turned to him with the high powered water hose aimed right at him. But he knew she was tough. She wasn't scared of anything, at least not anything that Ranavalona could do.

"Nothing ma'am. I said nothing. You are not afraid of anything. Have I mentioned how nice those rubber gloves look on you?" Sarah turned back to the dishes smiling, and squirted them without mercy, sending a rising cloud of steam and bubbles into the air.

They fell into their calm routine, Sarah washing and Johnson drying and putting away. This mundane ritual was nice. They didn't need to talk. There was no other world then the world in this room. This world of warm, soapy air, and the smell of industrial cleaners and plates that seemed that no matter how many times you washed them they were never truly clean.

Then before they knew it they were done with the dishes and had to start in on making breakfast. The huge vats of batter for the waffles was dug up, mixed and then put in the waffle irons. Johnson noticed while heating up the syrup that Sarah was being uncharacteristically quiet. Should would have been complaining for the whole time about how this was stupid and how the food didn't even taste that good to begin with and how she should be in bed catching up on some z's.

"You okay Sarah?" Sarah jerked up from grabbing an industrial sized tub of butter, hitting her head on the counter.

"What? Of course I am. Why?" Sarah talked fast, not making eye contact. This in itself was not strange. They were very busy in the kitchen, and they always had to be watching what they were doing, but Sarah seemed to be trying to avoid his eyes. This was unlike Sarah. If she had a problem, she came right out with it. She was very... clear. But now she was avoiding what she really wanted to talk about. But he wasn't going to push it. He knew that pushing Sarah would never work. You always just had to wait. She would come around eventually.

"Oh, you just seemed a little quiet. Thats all."

"Weren't you telling me just the other day that I needed to talk less?"

"Guess that I was wrong. It's nice when there is some noise in here." Johnson shot her a small smile. She looked for a second as if she was going to say something, but then the breakfast bell rang and they had to scramble to finish the breakfast.

Haiku's!

Haiku's are very fun poems to write!

A line of just five
Next is seven syllables
Then return to five

Haiku's can be hard
They are mostly 'bout nature
But do what you want

Though it may seem strict
Those have been the Haiku's rules
For many years now

Now for some real Haiku's!

Soft, Strong and Subtle
Flying over the dark moors
Stars slowly descend

Once we were happy
So trusting and full of love
Now, dark and alone

Sleek, dark and darting
Weaving through the tangled vines
Shadows in the dark

Alone and lively
Splashing through moonlight puddles
Dancing through the night

High the blue waves swell
Breathing in the oceans smell
Hope in tomorrow

Drifting on the breeze
A hint of what still can be
Hidden in the rain

An Abundance of Katherines

I recently finished An Abundance of Katherines, also by John Green.
The story revolves around Colin, a former child prodigy. The problem with being a child prodigy is that prodigy's are really good at learning things that people have already made, like languages, math etc. whereas prodigy's are not very good at creating something of their own.
Now Colin is 18 and has just graduated from high school and has just been dumped by a Katherine. Again. For the 19th time. Yes, Colin has dated 19 girls, all named Katherine. Same spelling even. Never a girl not named Katherine. It's not like he goes looking for girls named Katherine to date, it just happens by chance.
Now with a broken heart and sad prospects for being notable and famous, Colin and his best and only friend Hassain, go on a road trip. They end up in a small town in Tennessee called Gutshot. They stop there to look at the grave of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, whose assassination prompted the start of WWI, but soon find themselves traipsing around Gutshot with Lindsey, the girl who works at the general store, and coinsidentally is the granddaughter of the founder of the factory that keeps Gutshot going.
But when Colin goes and bumps his head, he has a 'Eureka!' moment and decides to try and make a mathematic equation that can predict how any relationship will end.
It's a bumpy, whitty, and insanely funny ride that they all get taken on. It involves incontinent oldsters, scary hicks, and a wild hog or two.

5 Stars!!
John Green is a Wonderful author.
Link to his and his brothers youtube site bellow.

will greyson will greyson

sup, its haley. so just a couple days ago i finished a book of awesomeness written by my favorite author john green and this other guy david leviathan. no offense, but i havent read any of his books. anyway, this book was REALLY GOOD, like almost as good as paper towns, my favorite of john greens books. (so far at least, i havent read an abundance of katherines yet)

so this book is about two boys named will greyson. one is just all around lame, he doesnt have many friends, and has 2 rules for life. shut up and dont care. of course he has his one best friend, tiny. tiny is gay and large. and lively, and loud, and just the opposite of will.

other will lives with only his mom and is depressed. and gay, but not near as gay as tiny. he has this friend, issac, whom he hasnt met, but talks to on the internet a lot. hes in love with issac. then he makes plans to meet issac and will greyson 1 makes plans to go to a concert.

thats when they meet, because neither plans turn out right. of course issac isnt some rapist or 80 year old dude like i thought. i mean, usually when people meet people on the internet its bad news. i wish i could put more, but i dont want to give away the story. so read it, but be careful because theres a lot of cursing, and although there isnt any sex, theres a lot of talk about it. so if you dont mind that much, go ahead and read it, you wont regret it.

thanks for following (what do you mean you arent following yet?!) make sure you tell your friends!!!

The Prologue and First Chapter

Chapter 1

“It seemed like a good idea at the time.”

“Famous last words.”

“What were we supposed to do? With the Intel we had, we made the best decision possible.”

“And doomed us all.”

“Anyone else would have done the same thing.”

“But that is why they hired us! Because we could do what nobody else could. Because we knew what nobody else knew.”

“Why would anyone blame us?”

“Why would anyone not?!”

Chapter 2

Johnson Wilson Smith lay in his cot, watching the rain fall through the window above his bed. He strained his ears to hear past the rain, the crying of the other children, and the creaking of the old building. And there it was.

Tap tap tap.

Johnson smiled and tapped back.

Tap tap tap.

The door slowly swung open and there she was. She looked as beautiful as ever in her pink puppy nightgown, her hair in a sleepy halo, her scared eyes illuminated in the moonlight.

“Um… Johnny?”

“Yeah Sarah?”

“I was wondering if…” Sarah looked away ashamedly, twisting a strand of her raven black hair between her long, boney fingers. Johnson and Sarah had been best friends since they could remember. In this orphanage of a few hundred kids, Johnson felt like Sarah was the only one he wanted to be with. Though she was constantly talking him into doing stupid stunts and getting him in trouble, and then wanting him to dry her tears after something goes wrong, when she shines him her devious smile he knows that even if she kills him, which he tells her often she will, he would follow her to the ends of the earth.

“That movie scared you, huh?” Sarah, the ever adventurous one, had convinced Johnson to help her sneak into the older kids movie night, which he knew she would regret.

“No, well… I mean. I… Um… yes.”

“Want me to tell you a story?”

“Only if you’re not busy…”

“At one in the morning?”

Johnson smiled at the memory, warm and comforting in his head. But that night was many years ago. And not surprisingly, a 14 year old Sarah could cause a lot more havoc than a 7 year old Sarah. Johnson barely looked up from his book as Sarah swung across the main hall on one of the giant, wooden chandeliers, as a whole platoon of councilors chased her across the hall. She landed expertly on the balcony, and swan dived into a crouch behind Johnson’s chair.

“I got it,” Sarah yelled triumphantly holding a manila folder in her hands.

“Um hum.” Long ago had the excitement of Sarah’s escapades worn off and now it was just tedious having to clean up the messes.

“Aren’t you the least bit curious to find out what I nabbed that was kept in the super-duper secret room?”

“Hmm?”

“Oh come on Johnny, can you show at least a little interest in my hobbies?”

“Stealing things that don’t belong to you is a hobby? I sure hope that the councilors see it that way, because I told you when you got into this that I was tired of covering your…”

“Johnny! There are children nearby!” Johnson looked up to see a line of second graders clambering up the great stairs. Sarah discreetly dropped the folder onto Johnson’s lap, and waved enthusiastically at the children.

“Open it,” she whispered as the teachers eyed her with the knowledge a full year of Sarah-teaching can only attain. They knew she was up to something, but with their own flock of children to take care of, they had no time to investigate.

“I don’t want to open it. I don’t have a care in the world what is in there.”

“Even if it’s ‘bout you?”

“What? Sarah, what did you do?”

"Nothing. I certainly didn't steal the file about one Johnson W. Smith."

" What?" Johnson met her eyes and at the impish twinkle, he jumped up from his seat. “Sarah! Why?”

“What’s your problem? I didn’t look at any of it?”

“What do you mean ‘What’s my problem’? This is personal information! Why would you even get this?” At this point Johnson’s voices was raised enough that the councilors looking for Sarah had come to see what the commotion was.

“Johnny,” Sarah said, trying to be nonchalant, but Johnson could see her discomfort at all of the eyes on her and him. “Johnny can you quiet down and… um… give me the folder. Please?”

“No, you know what Sarah, I’ve done an awful lot for you, never stopping you from doing all of the stupid things that you want to do. I’ve covered for you, I’ve lied for you, I’ve spent hours awake worrying about whether you were okay or if you were stuck somewhere where no one could get to you and no one could help you. And what have you done for me? Nothing! You use my stuff, you don’t care about what happens to me, you expect me to just up and drop whatever I’m doing just so that your little ninja fantasies can be fulfilled, and now you go through my stuff and expect me to just act calm so you can get away but I. Won’t. Do. It.”

Sarah tried to discreetly grab the folder, but Johnson was used Sarah, could read her face and could tell by just a twitch of her eyes what she was going to do. So he, very non discreetly, held the folder high above his head, so no matter how high Sarah jumped she wouldn’t be able to reach the folder.

Sarah glanced around, seeing the councilors coming in. She would have to get the folder and get out of their quick if she didn’t want to get caught. She tightened her legs and jumped. Johnson pulled the folder back. By now the second graders had come back out from the classroom and were engrossed in what they saw. The councilors were closing on Sarah. This would be the first time she didn’t get away.

hey! its haley again! im really bored... anyway, heres a poem i wrote called untitled. it has a title, its "untitled." theres a difference between being untitled and being called untitled. anyway, hope you like it. and by you, i mean kristen, haha:)

as i walk down the old path
i notice
something

the dead leaves fall from the trees
and they look
beautiful

but sometimes the air toys with them
like they are its
play things

right as they touch the ground
they fly back into
the air

Post From Haley

"hi, im haley! colleens super awesome editor and co author, although i just write what she tells me to. you know without me colleen would probably still spell "maybe" wrong, i hope that she doesnt edit this post... anyway, im a swimmer and nerdfighter, but dont ask me where i live cause you could be a rapist or something. i like taking things colleen says literally to annoy her/make her laugh. i have a boyfriend from mars... its hard for me to describe myself because my personality depends on who im with and my mood. although i like writing stories i prefer poetry and will probably post some originals as well as some of my favorties... i like to review and suggest books, so i can post some of those... i like to ramble, can you tell? i like photography, reading, writing, swimming, eating, sleeping, and depending on several factors, living. anyway, hope you enjoy this blog of awesomeness.
ps-one day this blog is going to be famous and youll be really jealous, so follow it now if you want to be one of the first few followers."

Hello, and welcome!
This blog was created to... well, I wanted an easier way to communicate with my friend and editor Haley about my story, but hopefully it will grow into a loving community where writing and reading in the teen age group can be discussed openly. Or not. : )
